New Aerospace Technology Institute competition opening soon

On 24th September, Dan Kells attended the ATI consortium building event in Cranfield in relation to the upcoming CR&D call, Building UK Leadership in Aerospace Technology. Over 80 organisations were represented at the consortium event by leading figures, scoping out future collaborations to drive the next generation of world-leading technologies.

With over 200 delegates, businesses and universities were able to pitch their ideas and discuss opportunities further in meetings throughout the day. The call, opening on 20th October, is designed to build leadership with UK business advancing aerospace technology.

The technical scope is broad as detailed by the extracts form Theme 4 (Novel structures and materials for aerospace applications) below:

  • Application of novel techniques such as 3D preforms and additive layer manufacturing (composite and metallic).
  • Development of high performance materials and novel design concepts that are enabled by new materials.

Other topics include structural health monitoring and aircraft operations.
