Farewell to CEO, Peter Chivers

At the end of July 2018 we said a sad goodbye to Peter Chivers our inspiring CEO who retired after 8 years of service to the NCC. Peter was a key influence in the development of the Centre and successfully established the NCC as a world leader in research and development for composite manufacturing.

Alison Starr, Executive Director of Strategy & Business Development, announced in her farewell speech for Peter; ‘The National Composites Centre is about so much more than the buildings, capabilities and equipment, it is about how that is delivered which is testament to how we have been led by Peter over the years. What we do every day as a company has got us to where we are now but the way we do it is thanks to Peter’s leadership and guidance.’ In his speech to the NCC staff Peter stated that he has been ‘incredibly privileged and proud of what the NCC has achieved’.

The NCC has grown immensely since starting in 2009 when a team of 10 walked through the doors, in comparison to July 2018 where we welcomed our 300th employee, all of which could not have been achieved without Peter.  In Peter’s final message he gave to the NCC staff he said ‘The NCC’s reputation is really strong and that is down to the people both internal and external. We now have a large presence in the UK with real legs for the future and I am happy to leaving it in such a strong place.’

The whole of the NCC would like to thank Peter for leading the company into such a strong position and wish him every success and enjoyment in his future endeavours.
