NCC Technology Pull Through Programme 2019-20

Call for submissions from any university in the UK by 14th October 2018

About

In collaboration with the EPSRC Future Composite Manufacturing Research Hub (FCMRH), the National Composites Centre (NCC) is opening its Technology Pull-Through (TPT) Programme to all UK universities for projects starting in April 2019. The objective of this programme is to Identify technologies at TRL3 with high potential for industrial application. Funding can be awarded from NCC and HVM Catapult to support projects developed at NCC in close collaboration with the Academic Principal Investigators (APIs) from the respective universities.

The process is articulated in two stages:

Stage 1 is based on the provision of high-level, short proposals submitted by the APIs which are then reviewed by two bodies: the Knowledge Exchange Committee (KEC, formed by the members identified by the FCMRH management) and the NCC TPT Committee (formed by NCC staff identified by the NCC Technology Board). The outcome of Stage 1 is a down-selected list of proposals approved to submit to the next stage.

Stage 2 requires the approved applicants to submit a fully detailed proposal, compiled with the support of an NCC Champion and NCC Technology Project Manager, identified by the NCC TPT Committee. The Stage 2 proposals are reviewed by the NCC TPT Committee and the output is a final list of funded projects.

Key dates for the 2019/20 submission are as follows:

  • 17th September 2018 – Open call for project proposals
