Construction on the second phase of the NCC got underway today with a turf cutting ceremony attended by the Business Minister Michael Fallon. He was joined by a group of major business leaders and academics who are part of this collaborative project. The doubling in size of the NCC, which is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, is being supported by Government funding of £28 million. The expansion will allow the NCC to extend its capabilities to develop composite technology for the aerospace, automotive, renewable energy and rail sectors. NEW STUDY – UK COMPOSITES 2013:  STATUS, OPPORTUNITIES AND DIRECTION The Composites Leadership Forum today announced that a study is being carried out to provide an improved understanding of the potential for growth in UK industries through the increased use of composites. The study, entitled “UK Composites 2013: Status, Opportunities and Direction”, is funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and has been commissioned through the National Composites Centre. NCC Phase II receives planning approval

The already successful National Composites Centre (NCC) is pleased to announce planning approval has been granted for the NCC Phase II extension. Based at the Bristol & Bath Science Park the NCC will build a new facility that will see the footprint double in size, making it one of the largest research and technology centres of its type in the world.
